Public Service Announcement, medical laundry
Public Service Announcement from The Green Van Commercial Laundry Service
March 16, 2020
To help protect your staff and your patients, you should follow this protocol regarding the cleaning of lab coats, scrubs, and linens:
- Lab coats. They need to be washed every day.
- Scrubs. They need to be washed every day.
- Linens and towels. They need to be washed after every use.
Medical and dental professionals should wear scrubs and/or labcoats.
Do not bring labcoats, scrubs, or linens to your home. Do not wear them to and from work. Change in and out of your scrubs and labcoats at work. If you do not have a changing room, use a designated examination room.
Launder your labcoats, scrubs, and linens onsite or have a laundry service pick-up and deliver. If you wash them, use the warmest water setting allowed by the care label. According to the CDC: “Launder items as appropriate in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. If possible, launder items using the warmest appropriate water setting for the items and dry items completely.”
Set the dryer temperature to a minimum of 140 degrees.
If you do not have on-site facilities to launder your lab coats, scrubs, towels and linens, we can help. We provide this service to many medical offices in Johnson County, with pick-up and delivery.
Sincerely,
Derek Anderson, owner and CEO
