Payment Terms and Conditions:

All new accounts are set up with credit cards for auto-payment.  We have some legacy accounts that we bill monthly.  If payment is not received by the due date stated on the billing statement, a 5% late fee is charged.  If payment is made by check and the check does not clear, a $40 fee is charged.

Dry Cleaning  Terms and Conditions

If you put a plate in the dishwasher and the plate cracks, do you blame your appliance?  Of course not.  The dishwasher did exactly what it was supposed to do.  The problem was with the plate.  You take it back to the store for a refund or replacement.  Or, if you wash a shirt at home, and the shirt shrinks 3 sizes, is it Maytag’s fault?  No!  The shirt should not have shrunk, especially if you followed the care label.

The situation is the same when you send your clothes to us for professional cleaning.  At The Green Van Dry Cleaning, we exercise the utmost care in processing articles entrusted to us and use such processes which, in our opinion, are best suited to the nature and condition of each individual article.

Nevertheless, we cannot assume responsibility for inherent weaknesses of or defects in materials that are not readilty apparent prior to processing.  (That’s only fair, isn’t it?)  This applies particularly, but not exclusively, to suedes, leathers, silks, satins, double-face fabrics, vinyls, polyurethanes, etc.  Responsibility also is disclaimed for trimmings, buckles, beads, buttons, belts, and sequins.  In laundering we cannot guarantee against color loss and shrinkage; or against damage to weak and tender fabrics.

We will do our absolute best to make your clothes look great, and in a hassle-free way.  But please don’t blame us if a garment fails the cleaning process that the manufacturer allowed for in the care label!  For more information on care labels:  https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/clothes-captioning-complying-care-labeling-rule

We will inventory all dry cleaning items once they arrive at the facility to be cleaned. This inventory is final, and we will track your items carefully to return them to you. However, in the event of loss or damage of dry cleaned items, we will reimburse you up to 10 times the charge per article (for example, a maximum refund would be $20 for a laundered & pressed shirt or $50 for a skirt). Should you find an issue with one of your pieces, please notify us within 24 hours of your delivery.

Wash & Fold Laundry terms and conditions:

By using our service, you agree that your clothes are suitable to be washed in water, on a normal cycle, and dried using heat in a tumble dryer. We cannot be responsible for any damage to clothing that is not suitable for this standard laundering process.

Damaged Laundry

We will do everything we can to avoid damaging your laundry. Unfortunately there are limitations to what we can do. For example, we don’t have time to check your pockets to see if you have left anything in them. Therefore, we can’t be held responsible if something left in your laundry (like lipstick, chewing gum, or a pen) causes any damage. We will do our best to find and return items that you accidentally left in your pockets.  But we can’t guarantee that we will find them.

All laundering processes cause normal wear and tear on clothing. As a result, we cannot be responsible for any wear and tear of laundry, including loss of buttons, fading, fatiguing, holes, or abrasions. Similarly, we reserve the right to decline cleaning any particular piece of laundry if we think it will lead to trouble.

Cleaning and drying laundry also creates other risks. We do not individually examine every garment prior to placing it in the laundry. Therefore, if something is “dry-clean only,” or otherwise unsuitable for common washing and drying techniques, please do not include it in the laundry you give to us.

We sort your laundry in order to provide the best service possible.  However, we can’t be held responsible for the re-disposition of colors (aka bleeding) or dimensional changes (aka shrinking or stretching).

Lost Laundry

We do not assume responsibility for lost laundry.  Because laundry is processed by the load, and not “per item”, we simply have no efficient way of verifying that we actually received any particular piece of laundry in the first place.

Rest assured though, we carefully track your clothes. For instance, we tag all our bundles with your name, and your clothes are never loose in our facility unless they’re inside a machine, on the folding table, or in their own laundry cart waiting to be folded.

If you do believe you are missing something from your delivery, please notify us within 24 hours of receiving your clean clothes — we are much more likely to find misplaced laundry if it is reported early.

Laundry Plans

We offer two ways to use our laundry wash & fold service:

  1.  A la carte.  Pay as you go.  We will apply your balance to the credit card we have on file.
  2. Monthly plan.  These are prepaid plans.  There is no “roll over” of unused laundry to the next month.  If you go over your plan, we will bill your credit card for the excess at the a la carte rate.  We bill your credit card at the start of the month for your selected plan.  This “auto-renews” each month.  If you wish to change or discontinue your monthly plan, you need to contact us.  We cannot change or your plan mid-month.  We will change it for the next month.
