What do your clothes tell the world?

American immigrants 1920

What you wear makes a difference!  Look at pictures of Americans from 100 years ago.  You will see decorum and dignity, from the most humble laborer to the most opulent business tycoon.  Now look at the folks around you:  jeans, t-shirts, “active wear”, hoodies, and yoga pants.  Nothing wrong with these, I guess.  But what message are you sending to the world?  Do you take pride in your job?  Are you dignified?  Do you have competence?  Can you be trusted?

Today, more than ever, it is easy to make a positive statement about yourself by your attire.  The bar is set pretty low!  For men, dressing up simply means a pressed pair of khaki pants, a pressed shirt, shined leather shoes and a belt.  I challenge you to stand out from the casual crowd.  By your attire, tell the world that you are a dignified grown-up.
